Congratulations to Maddy! She performed Saturday with the 12A Honor Band at KMEA in Wichita. This 75-80 member band is made up of small school students nominated by their teachers from around the state. She had rehearsal Thursday and Friday from 8 in the morning until 9:30 at night. She was also selected as an alternate for the 1234A All State Band. We are very proud of your musical accomplishments!

Peabody-Burns Elementary School would like to give a huge shout out to Police Chief Travis Wilson for attending our monthly assembly to talk about how and why we show respect for our American Flag and our National Anthem. As a community, we can all pitch in by reminding our students at activities such as sporting events to stop, remove hat, and place their right hand over their heart when the anthem begins playing. Thank you again, Chief Wilson, for your continuous support and love for our students!

The 4th and 5th graders learned about the orchestra instruments this past month. In class we listened to "Peter and the Wolf", which uses instruments and narration to tell the story. The students then illustrated their own "Peter and the Wolf" story. They did an awesome job!
