Detour tonight to White City for the Rural Vista basketball game. HWY 4 is closed. The highway department detour will take you all the way back to Council Grove. However, if you keep going on Hwy 77 there is 1400 Road to the left that if you turn left it takes you to Woodbine, if you turn RIGHT, it is called G Rd, and will take you to White City. Over the past few weeks our Health Care III class has been taking a CPR/First Aid class taught by our school nurse! They have learned how to recognize life threatening emergencies and how to respond. Now they can do CPR, use an AED, do the Heimlich maneuver, and control bleeding on anyone from babies-adults!

Peabody-Burns Elementary School is thrilled to present our January Student of the month, Xavier! Xavier is showing so much growth in his movement and speech. He is excited to be at school each day. Peabody-Burns Elementary School is pleased to announce the 2024 Spelling Bee Champions who will be representing our school and community at the Marion County Spelling Bee on February 14th. Taking first place in a back and forth battle until the very end, Guliano Portillo! Coming in second, Nexxus Ruhl! In third and this years Alternate, Logann Frazier! We are proud to have these 3 students representing our school and we wish them the best of luck. Congratulations to the rest of our competitors today as you all did a tremendous job! Thank you to Mr. Chris Frantz and Mrs. Ann Jones for their time and effort getting everything set up and ready. Thank you to our teachers, Mrs. Michele Gossen, Mrs. Alexandra Dickinson, Miss Rachel Wattson, Ms. Mary-Beth Gaines, and Mrs. Maddie Weaver, who volunteered their time to make this happen.
