Now presenting, your 2025 Marion County Spelling Bee Champion, Peabody-Burns 5th grader, Armanii Brown!!!!!! It was a great showdown today between some great spellers, but Armanii held her own and will now attend the state spelling bee in Salina on March 22. We had two other students place in the top 7! Great job to all of our spellers today, Leroy, Kayden, Guliano, Armanii, Nexxus, and Haiden. You made us all proud!

Say hello to our January Student of the Month, Chase! This month's character trait was perseverance. Perseverance is persistence in doing something despite difficulty in achieving success. Chase had nominations from two different staff members this month: (1) I would like to nominate Chase! Chase has demonstrated responsibility in all of his Student Leadership Team jobs, as well as with his own classwork. He has been utilizing free time in class to complete assignments, read, draw, and write stories. Chase shows perseverance each day by practicing self-control and working on academic and organizational skills. He displays empathy through conversations and showing genuine interest in the lives of others. We are so proud of Chase and the Warrior that he is! (2) I would like to nominate Chase for Student of the Month. Chase has been working really hard this month to persevere! Even when it is not something he particularly wants to do, he is still putting in the effort and completing his work. When Chase gets frustrated he has been utilizing his coping skills to calm down, and making better choices. You are so loved, keep up the great work!!! Congratulations, Chase and to the rest of our Student of the Month nominees: Jaxyn, Isaac, Zeppy, Kinzlee, Alivia, Blaze, and Skylar! Keep persevering through difficult challenges!
